Jason Adams & Jai Tanju’s “Shits Getting Heavy so Kill Yourself laughing” Collaborative Art Show!
Jason and Jai have been traveling parts of the country doing their own art and phototography shows for a few years now. Unless your willing to go to Japan or NY for one of their shows you might not see any of their work. This time they set one up at their home, San Jose California, for all the local lurkers to see. I must say that no matter how many of the “Kid’s” or the “Turk’s” art shows I go to its never anything less than a spectacular time. I got to this one a little late and regardless it was nothing slight of spectacular!
Jason has been pushing the limits of his own artistic style to where each piece seems to take on a life of its own. Shapes colors and images merge together to form an eerie resemblance of a person long gone or maybe a place once traveled by Jason in his long skateboarding career.
Jai’s photography is natural, random and true to life. In these photos you get to see what is seen through his eyes in that moment and place. They seem to keep adding up at his shows and the stories for each photo follows them in words spoken by spectators. “Oh…thats from this trip where they were here and this happened…” is what always come to my lips when I see them. Jai’s new take on metal fabrication gives his photos a way to interact more with them and is sometimes purposely silly and entertaining.
The regulars came out to this one and many re-connections were made with old friends and acquaintances. Thank you Jason, Jai, Vu and family at ESS for such a great event, see you at the next one!

Right on looks like it was a cool show !!
